Marshfield girls basketball routs Chippewa Falls to pick up sixth-straight win

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team tied its season-high in points with a dominating 82-26 nonconference win over Chippewa Falls on Monday at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers put up 51 first-half points to take a 32-point lead into halftime, then limited Chippewa Falls (1-19) to just seven points in the second half to finish off the victory.

Marshfield has now won six games in a row and improves to 18-4 this season.

Raella Schueller had a team-high 16 points, Ashley Grancorvitz added 15, and Dani Minsaas and Zaida Kolbeck both scored 13 for the Tigers. Kolbeck added eight assists and seven steals, and Minsaas had seven steals as well as Marshfield forced 26 turnovers.

Marshfield will play at Stevens Point on Friday to keep its chances at a Wisconsin Valley Conference title alive. The Tigers, who lost to Stevens Point at home on Jan. 10, is one game behind the Panthers in the conference standings with just two games remaining. Marshfield finishes its regular-season Feb. 16 at home against Wausau West.
