PARK FALLS – The Stratford boys basketball team overcame a slow start and a tough shooting night to pull past Chequmaegon 46-39 in a Marawood Conference crossover game Monday night at Chequamegon High School.
Stratford shot just 12 of 39 from the field, but was able to snag the win by making eight 3-pointers and going 14-for-19 at the free throw line.
Ashton Wrensch scored 20 points, going 6-for-6 at the free throw line and 4-for-7 from 3-point range, and Brady Schmidt added 16 points as he made three 3s and 7 of 8 free throws for the Tigers (10-8, 7-6 Marawood South).
Stratford hosts Rib Lake for another Marawood crossover game Friday.
