BALDWIN – The Marshfield boys hockey team did all of its damage in the second period and it was able to pull out a 3-1 nonconference win over Baldwin-Woodville on Thursday in its regular-season finale.
Following a scoreless first period, Noah Peterson scored just 28 seconds into the second, and Charlie Kenney and Tyler Reissmann each added goals as the Tigers build a 3-0 lead.
Baldwin-Woodville scored on a power play with just 5 seconds left in the period, but the Tigers were able to hold the Hawks scoreless the rest of the way as goaltender Cole Halvorsen finished with 37 saves in the win.
Marshfield (13-11) will play a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal at Wausau West on Tuesday at the Marathon Park Ice Arena in Wausau.
