WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys basketball team finished off its second-straight outright Wisconsin Valley Conference championship with a 45-35 win over Wausau West on Friday night at West High School.
Owen Hanson had 17 points and five rebounds, Luke LeMoine added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Brooks Hinson had 11 points and six rebounds for Marshfield, which improves to 17-6 overall and 10-1 in the WVC.
Marshfield dominated the first half, doubling up West 30-15 over the first 18 minutes, and held on the rest of the way to clinch the conference title.
Cole Nelson led Wausau West (8-14, 4-8 Wisconsin Valley Conference) with 13 points.
Marshfield will wrap up its regular season Thursday at home against Merrill. Pairings for the WIAA playoffs will be announced on Sunday.
