D.C. Everest storms back late to beat Marshfield boys hockey

WESTON – The Marshfield boys hockey team overcame a 2-0 deficit with four straight goals but couldn’t hang on, losing to D.C. Everest 6-4 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Thursday at Greenheck Fieldhouse.

Schuyler Seyfert scored twice and Ty Schreiner and Andy Wittman added goals to erase the Evergreens’ early lead and give Marshfield 4-2 lead heading into the third period.

D.C. Everest (3-1-1, 2-0 Wisconsin Valley Conference) stormed back, scoring four times, three goals coming during a 4½-minute stretch to grab the win.

Alex Zarchek scored the final two goals for the Evergreens to provide the final margin.

Everest goalie Jared Enkers saved all seven shots sent his way in the third period to preserve the win.

Mac Alboreo had 33 saves for the Tigers, including 27 in the first two periods.

Marshfield (1-4, 0-2 WVC) hosts Wisconsin Rapids next Thursday.
