Marshfield boys swim team knocks off Lakeland

MINOCQUA – Marshfield had seven first-place finishes as the Tigers beat Lakeland 99-68 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swim meet Thursday at Lakeland High School.

Aaron Scheets won the 200 individual medley (2:18.17) and 500 freestyle (5:15.18), Michael Josephson won the 100 freestyle (55.16) and 100 breaststroke (1:11.20), and Tom Sevening-Roe (1:07.06) took first in the backstroke for the Tigers.

Marshfield’s 200 medley relay teams took first and second place, and the 400 freestyle relay team of

Scheets, Josephson, Jake Akin and Ade Dillon combined to win the 200 medley relay (1:55.14) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:47.34).

Akin placed second in the 200 free (2:11.68) and the 100 free (58.98), and Dillon was second in the 50 free (24.5) and 100 butterfly (1:03.29).

Phil Kubica also took second for the Tigers in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.06).

Marshfield will compete at the Rhinelander Invitational on Saturday.
