Auburndale senior Annamarie Aue was a unanimous first-team selection and was named the Player of the Year on the 2022-23 All-Marawood Conference South Division Girls Basketball Team, as voted on by the six conference coaches following the season.
Aue was one of five unanimous selections on the six-girl first team, joining Stratford senior Lauren Kraus, Edgar senior Reagan Borchardt, Marathon senior Kali Prihoda and Wisconsin Rapids Assumption sophomore Sarah Shaw. Wausau Newman Catholic senior Sidney Galang rounds out the first-team picks.
Aue averaged 17.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2 steals per game for Auburndale, which finished third in the conference standings at 9-6 (16-10 overall).
Kraus averaged a double-double for Stratford at 11.8 points and 10 rebounds per game, while also finishing with 73 steals and 32 blocks this season.
Borchardt topped the conference in scoring at 18.4 points per game, shooting 53.6 percent from the field, and also hauled down 12 rebounds per contest for second-place Edgar.
Prihoda averaged 11.9 points per game for Marathon, while Shaw led conference champion Assumption at 11.9 points and 6 steals per game.
Auburndale senior Ashlyn Grimm was a second-team selection, while teammates Gracie Krings and Josie Ertl were honorable mention choices for the Eagles. Lilly Hasenohrl was among the All-Defensive Team honorees.
Stratford also had two honorable mention picks in seniors Bailey Linzmaier and Lexie Christopherson. Ella Heidmann was picked to the All-Defensive Team as well for the Tigers.
Edgar’s Tom McCarty was named Coach of the Year.
