STEVENS POINT – Jett Schoenherr won a pair of individual events and was part of a winning relay to help lead the Stratford boys to the team title at the Marawood Conference Indoor Track Invitational on Monday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
Schoenherr won the 60-meter dash in 7.07 seconds and the 200 in 23.69, while teaming with Payton Glenn, Colton Breit and Xander Curtice to win the 800 relay in 1:38.90 for the Tigers.
Stratford racked up 118 points to win the team title, with Edgar second with 80.5 points. Auburndale was 10th with 22 points.
Conner Weigel added a win in the 400 (53.13), and three other top-three finishes as he took second in the 60 (7.35) and the triple jump (42 feet, 11 inches), and third in the 200 (24.36) for Stratford.
Curtice added a second-place finish in the high jump (5-6) and the Stratford’s 3,200 relay team was second in 9:10.14.
Auburndale had one victory as Mason White Eagle won the high jump with a leap of 6-1.
Wausau Newman Catholic won the girls team title with 95 points, well ahead of second-place Phillips (72). Stratford finished fifth with 54 and Auburndale was 11th with nine.
Kassedey Downey took second in the high jump (4-8) for the Stratford girls, which also earned a runner-up finish in the 3,200 relay (11:05.27). The Tigers’ 800 relay team took third in 1:58.58 and Chloe Schafer also placed third in the shot put (31-4).
The Auburndale girls top finishers were sixth-place performances from Olivia Smrz in the 200 (29.69) and Lilly Hasenohrl in the shot put (29-4.5).
