AUBURNDALE – Auburndale used a five-run fourth inning to get its offense going and went on to an 8-3 win over Edgar in a Marawood Conference South Division baseball matchup Friday at Auburndale High School.
Aden Cherney picked up the win, striking out five in 6 1/3 innings before Blake Raab finished off the win as the Eagles earned a split in the two-game series this week with Edgar.
Sloan Welch went 3-for-4, Alex Willfahrt added a pair of hits, and Raab and Tim Schmitt each drove in two for Auburndale (2-1, 1-1 Marawood South).
Auburndale hosts Abbotsford/Colby for a nonconference game Saturday at 10 a.m.
