NEKOOSA – Stratford scored three runs in the top of the first inning and held on the rest of the way, knocking off Nekoosa 5-2 in a nonconference baseball game Friday at Holland Field.
Jackson Ormond had an RBI single and two errors led to two more runs to give the Tigers a quick 3-0 lead in the opening frame.
Nekoosa scored twice in the bottom of the first, but Stratford was able to tack on insurance runs in the fourth and sixth innings.
Three errors, followed by a sacrifice fly by Jack Tubbs, plated a run in the fourth and another error by Nekoosa, which had eight in the game, led to another tally in the sixth.
