Auburndale wins three events at Tomah Gatzke Track & Field Invitational

TOMAH – The Auburndale boys placed fourth and the girls took seventh place at the Tomah Gatzke Track & Field Invitational on Friday at Tomah High School.

Tomah won the boys team title with 199 points, while Auburndale was fourth with 84. Neillsville earned the girls team championship with 141 points and Auburndale was seventh with 29.

The Auburndale boys earned a victory in the 3,200-meter relay as the team of Ian Grosskopf, Charles Jewell, Adam Kundinger and Alex Mikes won in 9:12.39, and from Mason White Eagle in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 8 inches.

Lilly Hasenohrl won the girls discus for Auburndale with a throw of 95-10, and was second in the shot (28-3/4).

The Auburndale boys also earned seven other top-four finishes. Lucas Yeske took second in the discus (128-3) and third in the long jump (17-10½), Adam Dorshorst was second in the shot put (40-8) and third in the discus (121-2), Kundinger placed third in the 800 (2:16.13), Sawyer Cherney was fourth in the 800 (2:18.63), and Hayden Lobner took third in the shot put (37-1) for the Eagles.
