MARSHFIELD – Marshfield combined for 17 first-place finishes at the Wood County Track & Field Meet on Tuesday at Heiting Community Stadium at Marshfield High School.
Team scores were not kept at the meet that also included teams for Columbus Catholic, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, Wisconsin Rapids Assumption, Nekoosa, Port Edwards and Auburndale.
Ashley Grancorvitz was a four-time winner for the Marshfield girls as she took first in the triple jump (32 feet, 1¾ inches) and the 100-meter hurdles (17.99 seconds), and was part of the winning 1,600 relay along with Michaela Dick, Lucy Luedtke and Aubri Brown (4:30.87) and the 400 relay with Gracie Ridgway, Allar and McKenzie Holm (53.47).
Brown also won the discus (113-4) and triple jump (36-7¾), and Dick was first in the 300 hurdles (46.34) for the Tigers.
Other winners for the Marshfield girls were Casey Dasler in the pole vault (9-0), Emma Ridgway in the high jump 4-10), Ayana Bousum in the long jump (15-0), the 3,200 relay team of Calleigh Kanitz, Natalie Scharenbroch, Ava Raab and Carolina Sullenger (10:49.41), and the 800 relay team of Dick, Ellie Jensen, Olivia Page and Danielle Minsaas (1:48.76).
Trevor Foemmel was the top boys performer for Marshfield, winning the 110 hurdles (16.04) and 300 hurdles (42.01), and was second in the long jump (19-2) and the discus (126-11).
Vaughn Kolbeck won the pole vault (12-0) and Marshfield also posted a pair of relay wins. The 800 team of Luke LeMoine, Joshua Schaefer, Evan Pretsch and Trey Parr won in 1:35.30, and the 1,600 team of Luke Hilbelink, Ethan Sampson, Charlie Kenney and Evan Niehaus won in 4:04.32 for Marshfield.
Auburndale won one event as Mason White Eagle took first in the boys high jump (5-8), and Lilly Hasenohrl had the girls team’s top performance, taking third in the discus in 93-4.
Columbus Catholic’s Isaac Scheer was a double-winner for the Dons, taking first in the 1,600 (4:40.27) and the 3,200 (10:13). The Dons also picked up a win in the 800 as Cal Birkhauser won in 2:08.74. Birkhauser was also second in the 400 (54.08).
Audrey Waldhauser was Columbus Catholic’s top girls performer as she finished second in the high jump (4-10) and third in the 300 hurdles (1:00.18).
Pittsville’s Reese Grimm was a triple-winner, taking first place in the 1,600 (5:37.56), 800 (2:35.30) and 400 (1:01.89).
