SPARTA – Marshfield senior Kyle Berres earned meet medalist honors with an impressive 77 at the Singh Grewal Sparta Spartan Boys Golf Invitational on Saturday at River Run Golf Club.
Berres held on for a one-stroke win over three Holmen players that shot 78s as the Tigers placed second in the team standings behind the Vikings.
Holmen finished with a score of 313, with Marshfield a distant second with a 337.
Tyler Heiman finished seventh with an 85, Ethan Schnitzler added an 87, Maxx Oertel shot an 88, and Graydon Anderson had a 92 as well for Marshfield.
Marshfield will compete at the second leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament on Monday at Wausau Country Club.
