WAUSAU – Marshfield senior Kyle Berres tied for medalist honors and the Tigers finished second at the second leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Monday at Wausau Country Club.
Wisconsin Rapids won its second-straight WVC meet with a score of 337, with Marshfield second with a 350.
Berres tied Wausau East’s Cooper Bjerke for first place with an 81, three shots ahead of a trio of Wisconsin Rapids golfers – Carter Morrison, Sawyer Wilkens and Bryce Bredl – who each shot 84.
Keegan Fredrick tied for 11th with an 87, and Maxx Oertel, Ethan Schnitzler and Tyler Heiman all tied for 16th place with 91s for the Tigers.
Marshfield will compete at the Nekoosa Invitational on Wednesday at Lake Arrowhead Golf Club, before playing in the third leg of the conference tournament Friday at Merrill Public Golf Course.
