MARSHFIELD – The Columbus Catholic softball team scored in all nine of its at-bats and swept a Cloverbelt Conference East Division doubleheader from Loyal/Greenwood on Tuesday at the Marshfield Fairgrounds.
The Dons won 17-2 and 14-1 to improve to 7-2 overall and remain unbeaten in the Cloverbelt East at 3-0.
The Dons had 10 hits and walked 11 times in the opening game, winning in just four innings due to the 15-run rule.
Cierra Dieringer had three hits and two RBI, and Rhya Dieringer had two hits and three RBI in the win for the Dons.
In Game 2, Shelby Spata hit a home run and two singles with two RBI, and Sam Casperson was 3-for-3 with two RBI and scored three times as Columbus Catholic rolled again.
The Dons will play another conference doubleheader Thursday at Colby/Abbotsford beginning at 4 p.m. at Colby High School.
