WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Marshfield completed the clean sweep, winning both the boys and girls team titles, at the Gene Noonan Track & Field Invitational at Lincoln High School on Friday.
Michaela Dick set a new school record in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.17 seconds for one of the Marshfield girls’ 10 victories.
The Marshfield girls finished with 836 points in the “True Team” format, with Sauk Prairie a distant second with 505.166 points
The Marshfield boys did not win a single event, but used its depth to win the standings with 629.5 points. La Crosse Logan was second with 554.
Aubri Brown, Natalie Scharenbroch and Ella Allar were double winners for the Marshfield girls.
Brown won the shot put (36 feet, 4 inches) and the discus (128-4), Scharenbroch was first in the 800 (2:31.83) and 1,600 (5:43.75), and Allar was first in the 400 (1:03.69) and was part of the winning 1,600 relay team. Along with Brooke Sternweis, Calleigh Kanitz and Ava Gardner, the team won in 4:19.34.
Other winners for Marshfield included Casey Dasler in the pole vault (9-0), Danielle Minsaas in the high jump (5-0) and Ashley Grancorvitz in the triple jump (34-3).
The Marshfield boys had five runner-up finishes and four others that finished second.
Trevor Foemmel was second both the 110 hurdles (16.27) and 300 hurdles (41.97), Luke LeMoine took second in the 200 (22.81), Thomas Cashmer was runner-up in the 1,600 (4:45.06), and the 800 relay team of Joshua Schaefer, Jeffery Marsh, Marcus Neve and LeMoine finished second in 1:33.76.
LeMoine added a third-place finish in the long jump (20-0), Monty Woltmann was third in the triple jump (39-3.5), Cashmer took third in the 3,200 (10:56.11), and Kaleb Neuenfeldt was third in the 100 (11.74) as well for Marshfield.
Marshfield will host a six-team home meet next Friday, May 12, at Heiting Community Stadium. Mosinee, Medford, Marshfield Columbus Catholic, Spencer and Wausau Newman Catholic will compete.
