Stevens Point Pacelli High School softball player Hannah Trzinski has been voted the Awards ‘n’ More April High School Athlete of the Month.
MarshfieldAreaSports.com & Zaleski Sports are co-sponsors of the award for the 2022-23 school year. The monthly award will continue through June 2023, and the winners of the Awards ‘n’ More High School Athlete of the Year, for both male and female athletes, will be announced in July.
Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award: Abbotsford, Amherst, Athens, Assumption, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, D.C. Everest, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Iola-Scandinavia, Loyal, Marshfield, Marathon, Mosinee, Neillsville, Newman Catholic, Pacelli, Pittsville, Port Edwards, Rosholt, Spencer, Stratford, Stevens Point, Wild Rose, Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln and Wittenberg-Birnamwood.
Trzinski received 3,079 of the nearly 8,100 votes cast during voting from May 1-8 at MarshfieldAreaSports.com.
Other nominees for the April award were: Auburndale softball player Samantha Stanton, Spencer baseball player Reed Knecht, Stratford boys track athlete Jett Schoenherr and Pittsville baseball player Dylan Luther.
Trzinski, a junior, was a key part in the Cardinals’ surge to a 14-0 record to start the 2023 season. Trzinski went 5-0 on the mound with a save in six appearances, tossing a pair of shutouts and striking out 20 in 22 innings of work. She also went 16-for-38 with 16 RBI and 10 runs scored in 12 games for Pacelli.
