EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield softball saw its losing streak extended to seven as it was shut out in both ends of a nonconference doubleheader at Eau Claire North on Friday.
North won 2-0 and 10-0 to improve to 13-8 this season. The Tigers are now 8-10 after starting the season 8-3.
The Tigers were held to just three hits in the opener as Eau Claire North pitcher Madisyn Parker struck out 13 without a walk.
Katelyn Sternweis took the tough-luck loss for Marshfield, as she only gave up four hits and two walks while striking out six.
Marshfield managed six hits in Game 2, but again couldn’t get a run across. Lili Anaya had two of the Tigers’ hits.
Marshfield plays Hudson and New Richmond at Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday, before hosting Chippewa Falls (12-3), the Big Rivers Conference champion, for another nonconference doubleheader Monday at Madison Field beginning at 4 p.m.
