MARSHFIELD – Emmitt Konieczny threw a five-inning no-hitter and struck out 12 to lead the Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team to a 10-0 win over Greenwood in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal Thursday at Jack Hackman Field.
The top five in the Dons’ lineup all drove in at least one run as Columbus put up runs in four of its five at-bats, ending the game via the 10-run rule with a pair of runs in the fifth inning.
Mac Konieczny and Blake Jakobi each had two hits and two RBI, and Emmitt Konieczny drove in three and scored three times for Columbus Catholic (16-7).
The No. 4 seeded Dons move on to a D-4 regional semifinal against No. 5 Blair-Taylor (12-10) on Tuesday at Jack Hackman Field. The game will begin at 5 p.m.
Greenwood ends its season with an 0-15 record.
