STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point used a pair of late-inning rallies to sweeps a doubleheader over Marshfield to open the Junior American Legion baseball seasons for both teams on Wednesday night at Bukolt Park.
Stevens Point won 7-6 and 5-4, earning walk-off wins in each end of the twinbill.
Marshfield led 3-0 after 1½ innings of the opener before Stevens Point rallied back to keep it close.
The Junior Devils pulled back in front at 6-4 with two runs in the top of the seventh, but the Sixers plated three to earn the win.
Chris Pohl was 4-for-4 and Easton Ledden added a pair of hits for Marshfield.
Game 2 went much the same way as Marshfield took an early 2-0 lead, and was ahead 4-3 before the Sixers tied the game in the bottom of the seventh and won it in the eighth.
Mason Anderson and Lucas Est each had two hits and an RBI for the Junior Devils.
Marshfield will host Plover for a doubleheader on Monday at Jack Hackman Field beginning at 5:30 p.m.
