Marshfield had four players selected to the first team and had three more named to the second team on the 2023 All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Soccer Team, as voted on by the six conference coaches following the regular season.
Junior midfielders Abby Ongna and Hayden Berger were unanimous first-team selection for Marshfield, which finished second in the conference standings at 7-2, one point behind D.C. Everest (7-1-1).
Sophomore defender Kailyn Kurth and sophomore goalkeeper Peyton Bremer were also first-team picks for the Tigers.
Junior defender Samantha Kilty, junior midfielder Grace Taylor and junior forward Presley Franklin were among the second-team picks for Marshfield, while senior defender Devin Miller was the Tigers’ lone honorable mention selection.
Franklin led Marshfield with 10 points in conference play (four goals, two assists), while Taylor had four goals, Ongna had two goals and three assists, and Berger scored three goals in conference play for Marshfield.
Bremer allowed just seven goals and made 39 saves in goal for Marshfield, finishing the conference season with a .848 save percentage.
D.C. Everest sophomore midfielder Grace Sandquist was named the WVC Player of the Year and was one of the nine unanimous first-team picks. She had seven goals and two assists for the Evergreens.
Sydney Hayes and Kate Schaeffer of Wisconsin Rapids, Katie Schulz and Ava Hopper of D.C. Everest, and Allison Raasch and Alexis White of Wausau West were also unanimous first-team selections.
