MARSHFIELD – Eau Claire scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to outlast Marshfield 14-11 in a wild Junior Legion baseball game Friday night at Jack Hackman Field.
Eau Claire used an eight-run third inning to take a 9-2 lead before Marshfield responded with six runs in its half of the frame.
After Eau Claire tacked on two more runs, Marshfield scored single tallies in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to force extra frames, but were not able to score again.
Marshfield had 13 hits, three by Tyler Kremer and two each from Easton Ledden, Bryce Schade and Madden Prybylski.
Mason Anderson drove in three runs for the Junior Devils (8-13).
Marshfield hosts Wausau at 1 p.m. Saturday at Jack Hackman Field.
