Marshfield’s Minsaas, LeMoine compete at Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association state all-star games

WISCONSIN DELLS – The annual Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games were held at JustAGame Fieldhouse on July 28-29.

Five girls and nine boys from the area competed in the events. The five divisional girls games were held July 28 and the five boys games were played July 29.

Marshfield graduate Danielle Minsaas, an NCAA Division II University of Sioux Falls recruit, led the Division 1 North team to a 66-56 win by scoring a game-high 18 points. Wausau West’s Lexie White had three points in the victory.

In the Division 4 girls game, Neillsville’s Amelia Trunkel had two points and Stratford’s Lauren Kraus scored one point as the North team fell to the South 53-51.

Edgar’s Reagan Borchardt had a game-high 14 points as the North defeated the South 75-68 in the Division 5 girls game.

In the Division 1 boys game, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay recruit Marcus Hall of D.C. Everest led the Red team with 20 points in a 116-108 loss to the White squad. Marshfield’s Luke LeMoine also chipped in five points for the Red team.

Andrew Brown of Neillsville had 11 points for the Division 4 White team, which rolled to a 123-101 win over the Red.

The Division 5 boys White team was loaded with six Central Wisconsin athletes as it fell to the Red 136-110. Newman Catholic’s Isaac Seidel had 21 points and Mason Prey scored 17, Athens’ Aiden Janke scored 14 points and Connor Sheahan added four, Owen-Withee’s Carter Klabon scored seven, and Wisconsin Rapids Assumption’s Ryan Shaw had two points for the White team in the loss.
