MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield Junior Legion baseball team left the potential tying and winning runs on base in the bottom of the seventh inning as it lost to Stevens Point 6-5 in Wisconsin Valley Legion Conference action Monday at Jack Hackman Field.
Marshfield trailed 6-3 before scoring twice in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI double by Kallen Steinbach and a run-scoring single by Jakob Sadowska.
Madden Prybylski singled, Bryce Schade reached on an error and a sacrifice bunt moved them up to second and third base with two outs before Stevens Point was able to finish off the win.
Easton Ledden had two of Marshfield’s seven hits, and Tyler Kumm drove in two runs.
Marshfield (8-19, 2-9 WVLC) plays a doubleheader at home against Wisconsin Rapids on Tuesday beginning at 5 p.m.
