WAUSAU – All five Marshfield golfers shot 50 or better and finished in the top 13 as the Tigers earned the team win at the first leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference Girls Golf Tournament on Wednesday at Trapp River Golf Course.
Shylah Brogan tied for second with a 41, Brielle Lenz and McKenzie Holm were part of a three-way tie for fifth with 44s, and Lexxi Oertel was eighth with a 45 for the Tigers, who finished with a team score of 174. Lili Anaya added a 50 for Marshfield.
Talia Schlindwein of Wausau East/West shot a sizzling 35 to win medalist honors by six shots. East/West was second in the team standings with a 178, four shots behind Marshfield.
The second leg of the tournament will be Monday at Crane Meadows Golf Course in Wausau, with D.C. Everest serving as the host.
