AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale football team scored two touchdowns in each of the first three quarters and earned its second-straight shutout to start the season as it pounded Big Foot 42-0 in a nonconference game Friday at Auburndale High School.
Evan Scholl ran for 192 yards on just 10 carries and scored three touchdowns. His first was on a 44-yard pass from Kaden Anderson, who also added a 1-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter as the Eagles (2-0) took a 13-0 lead.
Scholl scampered 84 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter and added a 27-yard TD run in the third. Colton Weiler had Auburndale’s other two touchdowns, on runs of 16 and 10 yards.
The Eagles racked up 312 rushing yards on 30 carries, while holding Big Foot (0-2) to just five rushing yards and 149 overall.
Auburndale will open its Marawood Conference schedule with a crossover game with Loyal of the Central Wisconsin Conference Small Division on Sept. 1 at Auburndale High School.
