MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield volleyball team finished a perfect 5-0 to win its home Marshfield Tigers Invitational on Saturday at the Fredrick Construction Fieldhouse.
Marshfield swept Ladysmith 25-14, 25-8; Mondovi 25-11, 25-12; Antigo 25-22, 25-7; and Abbotsford 27-25, 25-12; to reach the championship match. The Tigers needed three sets to take care of Shawano in the finals, 25-19, 23-25, 15-8.
Abby Ongna had 46 kills and 32 digs, Grace Taylor added 20 kills, 26 digs and 12 service aces, setter Kailyn Kurth had 101 assists, and Ashlyn Barwick had 36 digs for Marshfield in its five matches.
Lauren Homolka added 26 kills and Kaylie Charron had 15 kills as well for the Tigers.
Marshfield (17-1 overall) hosts Merrill in a Wisconsin Valley Conference match on Thursday.
