EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield girls basketball team won its third straight game, beating Eau Claire North 45-38 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at North High School.
The Tigers improve to 3-1 after the victory, while knocking North down to 4-2 in a crucial early-season game that could help determine playoff seeding down the road.
Taylor Varsho scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Tigers. She was just 7 of 25 from the field, but was 9 of 13 from the free-throw line to help net her season-high in points.
Elena Seitz added 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for Marshfield.
Marshfield hosts Pulaski in its first game of the Marshfield Invitational next Tuesday at Marshfield High School. Wausau Newman Catholic and Green Bay Preble play in the other semifinal, with the third-place game and championship matchup scheduled for Dec. 29.
