CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Marshfield boys soccer team picked up its first victory of the season, ending a four-game skid with a 5-1 win over Chippewa Falls on Tuesday in a nonconference match at Chippewa Falls High School.
Landon Lee scored in the 17th minute, and Matthew Uphoff scored and Keegan Fredrick added two goals in the second half for the Tigers, who are now 1-4 this fall. Kai Rens also scored on a penalty kick in the second half for Marshfield.
Rens and Zak Meyer split halves in goal and each had four saves for Marshfield, which outshot Chippewa Falls 19-7, including 11-5 on goal.
Marshfield will play at Merrill on Thursday at 6 p.m.
