Marshfield girls tennis wins at Wausau East to remain unbeaten in WVC

WAUSAU – The Marshfield girls tennis team swept all three doubles matches and pulled out a 5-2 win over Wausau East in a battle of undefeated Wisconsin Valley Conference squads on Thursday at Wausau East High School.

Payton Koran won at No. 3 singles and Ashley Grancorvitz rolled 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4 singles for Marshfield, which is now 3-0 in WVC duals this fall.

The three Tigers’ doubles teams of Sophia Morrell and Ava Paape (No. 1), Maddie Kundinger and Audrey Luedtke (No. 2) and Aubrey Layton and Morgan Vechinski (No. 3) all swept its matches, losing a toal of two games.

Marshfield hosts Chippewa Falls for a nonconference dual on Monday starting at 4 p.m.
