STRATFORD – The Stratford volleyball team’s postseason run came to an end Thursday with a 3-1 loss to La Crosse Aquinas in a WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinal match at Stratford High School.
Aquinas (21-10) won 25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20, to advance to a Division 3 sectional final against Cuba City on Saturday night at Westby High School. The Tigers, winners of the Marawood Conference South Division and a regional championship, finish the season at 27-11.
Kalyn Schueller had 12 kills and 19 digs, Carly Pankratz had 23 digs, Emerson Roya had 15 assists and Laney Pankratz had 14 assists for Stratford.
Daisy Yoder added nine kills and McKenzie Novotny chipped in seven kills in the four-set loss for the Tigers.
