PRENTICE – Abbie Anderson scored a game-high 15 points and Prentice made five of seven free throws in the fourth quarter to hold off a fiesty Auburndale team 42-34 in a nonconference girls basketball game Tuesday at Prentice High School.
The Buccaneers improve to 12-0, while the Apaches fall to 7-5.
Auburndale stayed within striking distance the entire game. Prentice led 21-18 at halftime and 29-24 after three quarters before putting the game away at the free-throw line.
Liz Breu scored four of her team-high eight points in the fourth quarter, and Kayleigh Kundinger and Lindsay Gotz each hit a 3-pointer in final period for Auburndale, but the Apaches couldn’t close the deficit.
Auburndale returns to Marawood Conference South Division action Friday at Stratford.
