Marshfield had five first-team selections to the 2023 Valley Football Association All-Conference Team, which was selected by the conference coaches following the season.
Senior offensive lineman James Clements, senior fullback Braden Anderson, junior outside linebacker Dawson Meissner, junior kicker Keegan Fredrick, and junior return specialist Brooks Hinson were all named to the first team for Marshfield, which finished 4-3 in the FVA and ended up 4-6 overall after a loss in the first round of the WIAA Division 2 playoffs.
Anderson was the Tigers’ top rusher with 509 yards and ran for three touchdowns; Hinson averaged 11.6 yards per punt return, including two that he took back for touchdowns, and also averaged 17.6 yards per kick return; and Fredrick, who also was a first-team pick on the All-Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Soccer Team, finished 17-for-17 on extra points and made five field goals for Marshfield. On the defensive side, Meissner had 81 total tackles.
Hinson was also a second-team pick at wide receiver and an honorable mention choice as a safety. He led the Tigers in receiving with 39 catches for 508 yards and five touchdowns.
Marshfield had two other second-team selections in senior offensive lineman Hayden Dieringer and junior defensive end Simon Dagit.
Stevens Point running back Braylon Smola was named the Offensive Player of the Year, and Hortonville’s Ben Smith and Reggie Kloehn were named Co-Defensive Players of the Year.
