Columbus Catholic boys basketball blows past Nekoosa at Cranberry Classic

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic boys basketball team jumped out to a commanding lead by halftime and rolled to an 87-50 win over Nekoosa in a semifinal at the Cranberry Classic on Friday at Assumption High School.

The Dons led 43-27 at the half and outscored Nekoosa by 19 in the second half to win going away.

Blake Jakobi scored 16 points and Emmitt Konieczny added 15 for Columbus Catholic, which was playing in its season-opener.

The Dons will take on Port Edwards in the championship game of the tournament on Saturday.
