SPENCER – The Spencer boys basketball team dropped its season-opener to Marathon 77-32 in a nonconference matchup Tuesday night at Spencer High School.
Marathon forced 31 turnovers and drained eight 3-pointers in the victory.
Grant Warren scored 18 points and True Thurs added 15 on the strength of four 3-pointers to lead the Raiders.
Davide Chemello was the only Spencer player to reach double figures with 15 points.
Spencer is back at home Thursday for a nonconference game against Northland Lutheran beginning at 7:15 p.m.
