SPENCER – The Spencer boys basketball team picked up its first victory of the season with a dominating 67-38 nonconference win over Northland Lutheran on Thursday night at Spencer High School.
Spencer started strong, opening up a 20-point lead by halftime at 36-16 and cruised to the win, evening its season record at 1-1.
Sam Bezlyk had 22 points and 13 rebounds, and Breckin Miller chipped in 14 points on 7-for-9 shooting for the Rockets.
Spencer will host Thorp for another nonconference game Monday at 7:15 p.m. prior to opening its Cloverbelt Conference East Division season at Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Thursday, Dec. 7.
