MARSHFIELD – Wisconsin Rapids won five matches by pin and went on to defeat Marshfield 48-19 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference wrestling dual Thursday at Marshfield High School.
The Raiders won 10 of the 14 matches to earn the victory in the WVC opener for both teams.
Caleb Dennee won by pin at 175 pounds, Jon Sternweis earned a tight 8-7 win at 120, Joseph White won by major decision at 150 and James Clement won by forfeit for Marshfield’s four match victories.
Marshfield will compete at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational on Saturday.
