WESTON – D.C. Everest won all 11 events and earned a tight 88-82 win over Marshfield in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys swim meet Thursday at D.C. Everest High School.
The Tigers used their depth to make it close, taking second place in every event, but Everest was able to sneak out enough third-place finishes to eke out the victory.
Henry Hilbelink was second in the 50-yard freestyle (24.43 seconds) and the 100 freestyle (54.28), Simon Dagit was second in the 100 butterfly (56.49) and the 100 breaststroke (1:12.01), and Zach Kayhart took second in the 200 individual medley (2:20.15) and the 100 backstroke (1:03.23) for Marshfield.
Also earning runner-up finishes for the Tigers were their three relay teams, Carson Klumb in the 200 freestyle (2:04.34) and Kevin Buth in the 500 freestyle (6:01.44).
Marshfield will be off until Jan. 4 when it travels to Stevens Point for a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual.
