SPENCER – The Spencer/Columbus Catholic wrestling team improved to 14-5 in dual meets this season with a 59-13 nonconference win over Rosholt on Tuesday at Spencer High School.
Spencer/Columbus won six matches by forfeit and two by pin.
Nick Vaughan pinned Lukas Hintz in 2:34 at 215 pounds, and Josh Werstovshek pinned Cody Kowalski in 2:30 in the heavyweight match for the Rockets’ two pins.
Jake Nigon (152) and Luke Bump (189) won by major decision, and Tye Ackman (171) won a 9-5 decision for the Rockets’ other victories.
Spencer/Columbus wraps up Cloverbelt Conference dual meet action Thursday at Osseo-Fairchild. The Cloverbelt Conference Meet is Feb. 6 at Loyal.
