PHILLIPS – The Stratford boys basketball team ran out to a 19-point halftime lead and cruised to a 53-36 win over Phillips in a Marawood Conference crossover game Friday at Phillips High School.
The Tigers led 38-17 at halftime and despite scoring only 15 points in the second half, they were able to maintain their big lead and won for the fourth time in a row.
Brady Schmidt scored 13 points and Henry Zaleski added nine for Stratford (11-3, 6-2 Marawood South).
Phillips drops to 7-6 overall and 4-5 in the Marawood North.
Stratford hosts first-place Marathon (13-1, 8-0 Marawood South) in a conference matchup Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
