SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team earned its first Cloverbelt Conference East Division victory of the season, downing Colby 64-46 on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.
Spencer dominated the first half, rolling out to a 29-11 lead, and were able to play even the rest of the way to post the victory and improve to 4-11 overall and 1-8 in the Cloverbelt East.
In a game that featured 23 fouls on each time, Spencer won the free throw battle going 19-for-30, while Colby was just 11-for-32.
Autumn Davis was 12-for-16 at the line and scored a game-high 24 points to pace the Rockets. Alexis Mlsna added 12 points in the win.
Angelique Hernandez scored 20 points for Colby (3-13, 1-9 Cloverbelt East).
Spencer plays at Owen-Withee on Friday.
